Sorry for the lack of posts!

I haven't been doing much sewing lately; life is getting in the way. Daughter's home from college for the summer; husband's business has picked up tremendously; house projects demand attention.

And I made the mistake of going to the Sheep & Wool Festival a few weeks ago, even though I am not a knitter. Correction: wasn't a knitter. I am one now.

I'll be getting back to the sewing room in the next week or so and have some projects lined up for the summer, so stay tuned!

  1. Welmoed, thank you for all your sewing tips. They are very helpful. I am beginning my first professional tote, and I have a question. If I use a separating zipper, does that mean the zipper must be put back together every time it's zipped closed? Thank you for the great zipper tutorial (Sept. 7, 2009).

  2. You'll love the tote! Yes, if you use the separating zipper, you will have to tuck the zipper end back into the bottom of the zipper, just like you'd do on a jacket. But it's really not that big a hassle, I've found. And most of the time I don't zip it closed anyway, so the zipper panel lays nice and flat to the inside of the bag.

  4. It's OK to post about knitting projects too! I certainly read enough knitting blogs that occasionally has a sewing project thrown in to an update.

PS I made my first Professional Tote in April. I used your great separating zipper tutorial. Thank you.
